I have no idea who this person "Screamingbanshee" is, but I love it...That title is the lead in to his site and is the same name as his TH Blog...if you are a regular here at my spot and strongly dislike the PC nature of things, go here for some great laughs and reads. His "Twas the Night before Christmas" poem about what political correctness is not doing for us will make you laugh and you might want to cry at the state of our Country...I say don't lose hope as there are more of us out here fighting for the right stuff.

Wreaths At Arlington

Volunteers Wanted!!!

 

When: Saturday, December 15,th2007

Where: Arlington National Cemetery/ all 50 States

Time: 12:00

 

DC Protest Warrior Chapter is looking for folks to volunteer to help lay the holiday wreaths at all the grave sites of our fallen soldiers at Arlington. I am not sure of the process, but I am sure if you show up, your time will be put to good use!

There are some 10K wreaths to be laid at Arlington, and 4k more to be used in ceremonies in all 50 states. All of the wreaths are being donated by the Worcester Wreath Company. For next year, you can sponsor a wreath if you like…click on the link below and check out sponsorship.

As an aside…one of my favorite quotes on Freedom is by Ronald Reagan. It is also a quote on the Wreaths Across America site. I believe he said it in July 4th radio address in 1986.

Eagles Soaring Again September 15th.

As many patriots( yes, I distinguish us from the America Haters, even if they won’t admit it, yet) know, the Gathering of Eagles is preparing to descend on Washington, DC for their third event. Yes, the anti groups and blog sites are out in full force with their anti-American, anti-mission, anti-surge tripe just in time for General Petraeus’ visit to Washington to report on his success.

The anti groups are armed with yet more threats to denigrate the Memorials of the fallen and spit on those who still fight for their freedoms (whether they agree with it or not, this is the case.) They have already defaced a Navy Memorial with paint and a pink hat.

You know as Eagles, we are not letting that happen on our watch.

The Eagles have the support of many other groups. Rolling Thunder, Military Order of the Purple Hearts, Vets For Freedom, Move America Forward, Free Republic, and I believe the Patriot Guard. We all support the troops and their mission. We know the surge is working because the right man is on the job.

Remember-- anywhere, anytime, any weather. (Can I get a hell yeah and a hoo-ah,ooh-rah, or a hooyah...that's what I'm talkin' about!!)

We do not have any corporate sponsors that I know of…it is all individually sponsored by those that call themselves patriots, Eagles. How cool is that? Our beliefs and the hard work of all involved are what got us to this point. We stood and we will stand to show our appreciation and support for the Freedoms and liberties being kept safe for us by Them! Them, the Airmen, Seabees, Marines and the Soldiers. Them, the SEALs, Rangers, Special Forces. All of those who answer the call voluntarily and THEM, who make the ultimate sacrifice. We need the boots to be on the ground. Forget giving money. If you have ever taken a stand on anything in your life, now is the time!!! Come to Washington and stand tall. We are making a difference, no matter what we hear in the spew of the anti- groups. Those people are mere pisss-ants, in the immortal words of Mary Ellen Walton. They do not understand that we, the Eagles, supporters of the US Military and The United States of America know that commitment is what it takes to keep this Country and our fighting men and women on top. We are not about to let them give it away at any cost. No way. As a matter of fact, I received a thank- you from an Eagle’s brother…maybe the lefties who lurk at my site will see the effect we have on the troops…Read it below.

Oh,  I know it isn’t possible to change their minds, alas, I don’t quit trying. Perhaps some day it will happen. Until then, we are Eagles, and we will continue to soar to new heights for Love of this Country and our troops…ever landing where the America haters think they are free…NOT!!!

It's not Spanish....

Some of you have probably been going the TH blogs daily columns by "Us little peeps" and seen the one that has been written in what you thought was spanish...It is Infomix, by Christina- whom I do not know.  Her blog is written in Portuguese

In all fairness, I was annoyed to find a completely spanish blog on TH. And, I read other people's sites who were angry about the language.  If you want to be here as an emigre, then it is safe to say, you are going to learn Englsih. Nobody is asking one to give up their mother tongue, but I do expect that english becomes a primary method of communication,written and verbal. It's not so tough, really.  Try it.
I have learned german, dutch, french because I do travel. I know that other countries speak english as a second language, but it is a courtesy  to know enough to get around so  I do effectively assimilate.( I don't expect them to know english, they just do). 

I did my best to read and try to get the message, but in the end, I sent it to my friend for translating. She said that it is mostly to do with a movement in Brazil called "Cansei". It's premise is that the people are rising up and saying they have had enough...just in case you are interested, you can go here:

GOOD NEWS FROM IRAQ!!

 Here is some GOOD NEWS not reported by any of the lame MSM. Michael Yon tells it like he actually witnesses it. Despite the attempts of the MSM, There is plenty of good news to be had in Iraq. Negativity is what they are best at, but Yon uses great objectivity to report things. This is an excerpt from a column published in the New York daily News.

Anyone who says Al Qaeda is not one of the primary problems in Iraq is simply ignorant of the facts.

I, like everyone else, will have to wait for September's report from Gen. Petraeus before making more definitive judgments. But I know for certain that three things are different in Iraq now from any other time I've seen it.

1. Iraqis are uniting across sectarian lines to drive Al Qaeda in all its disguises out of Iraq, and they are empowered by the success they are having, each one creating a ripple effect of active citizenship.

2. The Iraqi Army is much more capable now than it was in 2005. It is not ready to go it alone, but if we keep working, that day will come.

3. Gen. Petraeus is running the show. Petraeus may well prove to be to counterinsurgency warfare what Patton was to tank battles with Rommel, or what Churchill was to the Nazis.

And yes, in case there is any room for question, Al Qaeda still is a serious problem in Iraq,one that can be defeated. Until we do, real and lasting security will elude both the Iraqis and us.(SO, Let's change the ROE and Kicks ome more AQ ASSS!)

The Truth is out There!!

Several weeks ago, a story was published in The New Republic. Written by one Scott Thomas Beauchamp.
It was about some things he has supposedly seen in a DFAC in Iraq, some incidents that took place and US soldiers being the guilty party.
Hmm, soldier shittting on comrades? Not for me. Don't like it,never will.
Anyone with sense will agree, war is ugly. Bad things happen, but so do many good things. In this case, I am not going to talk about the good, but rather at the end of this post, provide you with some links to read about it for yourself.
Beauchamp alleged that some soldiers purposely made fun of a disfigured female contractor.


“Man, I can’t eat like this,” he said.

“Like what?” I said. “Chow hall food getting to you?”

“No--with that f---ing freak behind us!” he exclaimed, loud enough for not only her to hear us, but everyone at the surrounding tables. I looked over at the woman, and she was intently staring into each forkful of food before it entered her half-melted mouth.

“Are you kidding? I think she’s f---ing hot!” I blurted out.

“What?” said my friend, half-smiling.

“Yeah man,” I continued. “I love chicks that have been intimate--with IEDs.”


This is a direct quote from his "story." Many other blogs have picked up this story...to include Hugh Hewitt, Free Republic, Blackfive and more.  I know that most former military folk would never believe such tripe.  It is my opinion that comrades in arms and especially those at war would ever have made a nasty statement such as that, having seen what it can do to people in general- you know, only maim or kill, right?  Not only did that not happen in Iraq, but in Kuwait at Camp Buehring. The likelihood that he had even seen combat at that time seems slim!! Well The new Republic where the story was originally published said they rigorously fact-checked the story. I don't think so. They also claim that the Army's internal investigation shut them down from putting anything new up. And, the perpetrator himself came out to stand by his story with his full name. Big deal.  The end result after all this is that he still lied.  He set out to defame troops while he was fighting a war he didn't believe in.  Read this from Confederate Yankee (http://confederateyankee.mu.nu/archives/235889.php)

It becomes apparent that Beauchamp was a liar. Why, if it were indeed true, would not one person in that unit stand up to back him? I would have called that SOB out the second he even made a joke about it. Realistically, that could one day be him some callous basturd would make a remark over, and not one of his own comrades, either.

That being said, lack of journalistic integrity created a stir over at one of my favorite blogs, Blackfive.net. The discussion was centered on journalistic slants, lack fact-checks,etc...of  none of which can be ascribed to Blackfive. Columbia Journal Review took the initiative to slam milblogs and effectively ticked one Laughing Wolf off. (He is the lone Civilian over at B5). Homeland Security or Homeland Vulnerability?

 

Okay, so I saw this on Drudge today and have heard hide nor hair of it since and it took me several search tries to recall the article.  What does it make me wonder? Well, I do fear the ineptness is going to push us closer to a huge attack. We are vulnerable and not being given the true heads up....Did any of you see this report? Comments??


Driver Crashes through A Nuclear Power Plant

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) - A driver ran a checkpoint at a nuclear weapons plant early Monday and crashed into a barrier, then fled on foot, authorities said.

Guards at the Y-12 nuclear weapons plant, a primary storehouse for bomb-grade uranium, said the man "appeared to be impaired in some way" when they stopped him around 5 a.m. at a security checkpoint near a rear entrance, spokesman Bill Wilburn said.

They asked him for identification, but the man hit the gas and drove through the checkpoint, then crashed into security barriers a short distance away, Wilburn said.

"When he hit that, he jumped out of the car and ran away. He left the car there with the engine still running," Wilburn said. He said the guards told him the car had been hot-wired.

Wilburn said no weapons were in the car. "They checked the car very thoroughly before they moved it. They found nothing," he said.

Oak Ridge police were searching for the driver.

Steve Wyatt, spokesman for the National Nuclear Security Administration in Oak Ridge, which oversees the Y-12 plant, downplayed the crash, saying it was "next to nothing." The plant makes and dismantles uranium parts in nuclear warheads.

Mr. Reagan Goes To Washington one more time

This was originally written in an email to friends upon President Reagan’s death. I went to pay my respects. I take my cue From Mudegeon’s Memorial Day post. Inspiration is a great thing.

Guys,

As you all know I took off like a bat outta helll to get to DC to pay my respects to the first President I ever voted for. I thought I would give you a retrospective look.

I was saddened by the death of a great man, my former Commander in Chief, Ronald Wilson Reagan. I think I did this more for my Gramma than me. She was a staunch Republican her whole life. (Which says a lot coming from such a liberal state.) She instilled in me much of my Patriotism. And what she didn’t, I learned from the United States Military. Yeah, I know, you’re RMFP here and don’t you forget it!! (Resident Mother F..Patriot) Somebody’s gotta do it.

As I headed north on 95, I listened to several stations, all broadcasting what would be happening. At one particular moment, I was hoping and praying there would be some sort of delay so that I could make it to the Capital before the Cason. In listening, I knew of course, my chances were slim to none.

Security was going to be a huge issue….I traveled light. Baby back pack, camera and phone…money. I had it all figured out…I could ditch the memory card if there were no check-ins, phone battery, too. I brought 2 one serving crystal lights for adding to water, sunscreen, some chips and that’s it.

Deb was gonna get me to the metro and there I would wait my turn to pay my respects.

As I got to the metro, I noticed it wasn’t terribly busy. I was surprised. But I did meet Joe, also headed in my direction. I wondered if I would really wait in line for the entire day…but I was ready. We walked to the lines together and took our place. There I met Liz and, let’s call her MS. Annapolis-she was a CIA staffer in training. Liz was a retired service member who came decked out proper. It was quite hot. The park police had the metal barricade fencing up and it snaked everywhere.

Looking around, I saw Navy medics on bikes, and water pallets galore.  I was not getting out of line for any reason. I saw a woman with a newborn baby…what was she thinking? That baby could dehydrate in no time at all! Several people behind me fell out quickly. A few screeching ambulances came in and out.


We shared sunscreen, snacks and lots of stories. I saw a Dad and his two Boy Scouts in full uniform there to pay respects. I greeted the “3 war” vets(I saw two!!), shook their hands and offered my thanks. I met people from Kentucky, Lousianna, California!!! Yep, they wanted to be where it counted for them. I met immigrants (legal ones), who said they were there to pay respects to the man who brought down communism. I met British tourists who had the same respect for our President as their own former Prime Minister Thatcher, even some Canadians. Imagine, that since 9/11 and hearing how hated the US is, that people from other countries were taking time out to do this. I was impressed. As we moved closer and closer to the Capital, we started seeing little memorials…photos of Mr. Reagan with well wishes, and jars of jelly bellys- which were one of his favorites.

One of the most common themes heard throughout the day was that people kept on saying they were so happy to see others who felt and thought the way they did. I guess they were letting the media get to them. I hope they were surprised…to me, it was just awesome to see this display of people and patriotism. I, in all my endeavors err on the side of good. Why wouldn't they be here if they could? Yeah, yeah, a flaw, but to me, I can’t afford it any other way, you guys all know that.

Now, we were at the steps of the Capital. I could see signs on what I assumed to be Senate office windows. Mostly respectful. The one thing, as I neared the security screening place that was unnerving were the snipers I saw. Yikes!  CSPAN was there with their cameras on big tall booms.

So, lucky for me, I did get to check my camera, and backpack. They made me throw away my lemonade powder….Asked us to turn off the cell phones. I checked mine. But, there is always a n’er do well one in the crowd, right? This gal didn’t listen and the park police confiscated her phone and sent her to the back of the line!!! Served her right.

As we made our way up into the Rotunda, I looked up. That ceiling is such a stunning sight. The stairs are very steep. There are ushers quietly greeting us with nods and a “keep to the right” on the stairs look. I can hear footsteps. I see people crying, soldiers erect and somber. It is almost my turn. I can see the Flag-draped casket, now and there is a single line of people moving counter-clockwise saying their goodbyes. I see a Marine standing at attention. And then, it’s my turn. I am at attention, and lock my gaze on the casket. I take two steps and curl my fingers at my side. I stop. I command myself in my head so my “Left Face” will be crisp. I turn. Perfect! I draw my hand up for the salute and my eyes well with tears. I suck in my breath, so I don’t blink and drop my salute. Right face and I see the Marine again and we make eye contact. My heart starts to hurt and I hope this gives Mrs. Reagan some comfort…that her “Ronnie” had this kind of impact on a Country as great as ours. In my head I say, “Thank you, sir, Rest in peace.” As I walk toward the stairs at attention still, the tears fell. The Ushers handed me a memorial card and they say “Thank-you for coming.” I was yet again, impressed.

When I get outside and meet up with the “line friends” we have little to say. I tell everyone I will email them copies of the photos I have, tell them it was a pleasure to know them today and I am off. There are many people waiting their turns. We only waited 4 hours. I would have waited forever. I was so proud to say he was my(our) Commander-in-Chief.

Dnager, Danger Will Robinson!!

 

This is a quickly thrown together piece. I have been without my Computer. Apologies for being lax...It stinks not to know when it will be back or if! Anyway, read on.

So, I cannot recall the exact time frame…but most of you who read TH will remember Chertoff saying that he had a gut feeling or was aware of an impending terror attack. Well, as I brought you “It ain’t Jmiraquai” Now I bring you from the same source, a news flash. Paul L. Williams wrote a book. He was on Savage's weekly update on Terror.  Did this make it mainstream? No, naturally not. But it has scared us enough as a family to want to take any of our retirement money invested in stocks, and make it cash safe.

What could it be? Well, try this on for size. There is already nuclear material/nuclear devices inside the US, ready for an attack on this Country, by peace loving Muslims, of course. Ones that can be reasoned with, mind.

Islamberg, NY? Yep, the cops went there and ended up picnicking! What the hell is the President thinking? We should have rounded them up two weeks ago, every Muslim and kicked their assses to their own fukking Country!! Plain and simple.

I am tired of President Bush being PC. Can he really finish out his Term without taking down Iran or letting the the troops do their thing? Can he? I am normally not an alarmist when it comes to war, terror or anything else. Something more has to be done. I always tell everybody that I have faith and I will to continue the fight. However, I am becoming alarmed at the levels of threats that are ignored, played down.

It’s coming people, get ready. Get Ready!

Flag Day

Today is Flag Day. How many people recognize it? Probably not many. I see my flag every morning when I turn on the lights to make my coffee. I just wish I had a bugler outside to play Reveille for me. Nothing, in this old Military-minded gal’s heart could shake me awake faster than that. Because I literally wished I could be a chest-puffer, for the pride that swelled within me, every morning of my military life. But, even so, the National Anthem and our Pledge could do the same before that…Does anyone know how it started?

Allow me…

On June 14th 1777, Congress had adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official Flag of the US. It took years for a man and his recognition of Flag Day to be recognized. In 1885, he put his flag in a bottle on his desk and asked students to write about the meaning. On June 14th, 1916 President Wilson finally signed a proclamation leading to nationwide observances of Flag Day.

But, alas, here it is. What kid today feels the same pride saying the Pledge of Allegiance that I, or some of my comrades do to this day? Do they even sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” anymore? Who knows the words to America the Beautiful?

Do you think I have gone off on a tangent? I promise you, not.

What sparks your thoughts when one mentions the Flag?. Is it attending a baseball game, removing a hat to show your respect. Or, perhaps it is the serene beauty of a fallen soldier’s casket draped with the this Nation’s symbol of all that is right and good? Maybe it is 9/11 and the rag of red, white and blue that sits in my car window that I bought minutes after I heard the first plane struck a tower and I, with military self, screamed, “f-ing terrorists!” That is no lie.

I cringe at the thought that people put limits on flying the Flag…Where I live, they are going to charge a local business for flying “too many” Flags. My Gram is flipping in her grave at this, for sure. Someone in my neighborhood puts them at all the mailboxes on Memorial Day. I fly mine until it fades. My tiger cub has already seen a Flag retirement ceremony…and was totally awed. He knows.

“Mommy, we never let the Flag touch the ground, ever!

We have to take it in when it rains or snows or gets too windy. We know that when a special person, like an ’ol President dies, we make it fly at half ‘stafft.’ We also got to display our Flag at the top of other Flags or at the right of other ones ‘cause we‘re the best, right? We’re ‘sposed to display it on holidays and at school.”

That is it! We are the Best! He said it. His own words. And, in my heart of hearts, I can never let that go.

My friend, who just returned from Iraq in May, knew how much I loved to see the cars and soldiers stop dead in their tracks at 1700 hours for Retreat. He drove me around Ft. Bragg on purpose until 1700 hours (5:00pm), because he knew how I would feel for a few moments, again a part of the best and the brightest, even if I already had my turn…Thanks, 1SG, we’ve come a long way…Love you bunches!

First, let me say that the Gathering of Eagles has made the big time!! Woo-hoo! We have an Eagle who has had her story and photographs published in the American Legion Magazine. Kudos to Janet St. John for moving the mission forward!!!

More kudos to the Eagles who attended the USCG and West Point Graduations…the photos were phenomenal!! I am going to post a couple of links for those who may have missed some of the stuff I have seen.

Now, For GOE-2. I have to say having been sick for much of the week, I was almost too exhausted to go…until…Until I read a comment on the Gathering of Eagles forum.

That was all she wrote. I got on the NC Forum immediately and put out for a caravan or a hitchhiker! I was so incensed at the immaturity of those comments/actions. It is the GOE mission to Support the troops, the mission and the United States of America!!! Amen. Something I am only too happy to do if it means a smack-down of the unpatriotic in this Country.

That being said, I was on my way. Yakfisher and I agreed to meet up and follow each other to DC. The plan upon arrival was to get to Walter Reed and support fellow Eagles and Freepers against Code pinkos. As I was driving along, I searched for other Eagles or Rolling Thunder Riders. I wanted a mental tally in my head. Eagles Up, Eagles Up!!! The closer we rolled, the more pumped I got.

We arrived at about 1700 hours. I had already checked the metro times and the bus schedule for departures. We had to haul hiny if we were gonna get there at a decent time to be represented.

Walked to the metro, hopped the bus and Voila…Code Pink at it’s best. They saw The Yak and I and shouted something. I shouted back, loud as you please, ”Peace through Victory!” And the loser double birded me. Ah, the signs of peace, right?
We were immediately greeted with enthusiasm by Freepers were cookin’ out in honor of the “out- of -Towner” Eagles as a show of gratitude. I grabbed a sign and Yak grabbed a Flag, trading spaces with a supporter so he could eat. Since there was still a bit of rush-hour traffic, we were honked at quite a bit by troop supporters passing by. Laura, another supporter was awesome. She was undeterred by the, hmm, shall we say, seven or so pinkos that were loitering down the street from the four corners that became “ours.” She was so alive with shouts of “We love our Troops, God Bless America!!“ Very infectious! The Pinkos let their permit lapse( must have been too much on their brains) And I believe ConcreteBob was the one who secured it. Several supporters had parked their vehicles on the street with lovely, bright pink neon signs…Telling supporters to beware!

Can you believe the pinkos have their own charter bus? I think the phrase for that would be, “Pinkos, paid for by George Soros.” (or as my friend Guns likes to say Soreasss!!) It's where you see the words Impeach Bush.

Freepers....The regulars!

Several troops came by to take part in the cook-out and say Thanks to us. We did see several wounded troops and that was pretty special. One injured troop had a brother who came outside to say thanks and stand with us. Yak had the honor of being thanked by an injured soldier who waved his nub at him as he passed by in a car and said Thanks. I don’t think he can even mention it without getting all choked up.

It was noted that the night usually ended with the pinkos leaving first. I guess if it gets to be too much work, they have to go home and nap. Several more people came on even as we were almost ready to leave…USABob from the Bronx…who put it like this: “I was here for Go-E one and I put the wife, kid in the car and said I ain’t missing 2!!” He even brought his own flag. A guy named Monk who Yak knew came, too. Always great discussions going on as well.
Alas as we got on the bus and headed for the hotel…I encountered another crazy. He was trying to ask the bus driver if Bush was the Devil…oy! And then he proceeded to say that “Your race (he was black, I’m not) is ruining the Country because we’re letting all the immigrants in. I just shook my head and bid him good evening. Immigration is a sore spot for another day....Eagles Up! Stay tuned for part two...

Memorial Day Memories

 Update...I was reading the comments posted and I realized that I had forgotten to mention another important WW2 Veteran. She was my neighbor, once. I still keep in touch with her. Ethel "Guffey" Simpson was a WW 2 nurse. She said was with the first medi-evac crew to arrive on Normandy Beach. She currently lives in the AirForce Veterans Home in San Antonio. She is 91 with a memory and wit that would blow you away. When the WW2 memorial opened, I really wanted to treat her to a trip to DC. She couldn't do it, I think,because of her failing health. Ethel,you are the only female WW2 Veteran I have everhad the pleasure of knowing and I have to say, "YOU ROCK!!" God Bless You!

As a child, driving to my Gram’s house on route 67, we used to pass a fishing boat. And, every single time we drove by this boat, I would say something about my great uncle, David S. Miles.

He had been a soldier during WW2 and what I knew of him was that he died “on the ship that went down with the four chaplains.” This was according to my Gram, his sister, Marion. And to me, that boat was HIS boat. I had no understanding that the ship my Gram talked about was the USS Dorchester, a far cry from this little 40 foot boat I just knew was the only thing left of my great Uncle. I was four at the time.

He was a war hero to me and that equaled famous. After all, they named the local American Legion Post #174 after him and I saw it every time I went to Gram’s house on the hill.

Every year, we attended the Memorial Day Parade in our town. One might expect it to be very short, as our town was quite small. This was not necessarily so. We had plenty of fife and drum corps‘, the American Legion’s marching Ladies’ Auxilliary, Boy scouts. There were school bands, floats, fire trucks and clowns throwing candy. Baby American flags were handed out for free. My Gram always decked my cousins, my siblings and I in red, white and blue coordinating outfits. We were always reminded by Gram of the privileges we were afforded because of what others sacrificed. Hands over hearts, standing tall, and knowing every word to the National Anthem and My Country tis of Thee. (oh, and Jesus Loves Me)

The first time I saw a Gold Star Mother on one of the floats in the parade, I wondered why a “girl” would be on a float. I expected that all war heroes then were men like my great Uncle. My Gram said to me,” That is a Gold Star Mother whose child was killed in the war like my brother.” I hadn’t heard the word “killed” like that and it stung me. I wondered how come that Mom was not crying uncontrollably because her child was gone. Instead, she held her militarily folded flag and her head high.

At four, the idea that 25 years or perhaps only seven years (with Vietnam, at the time) had passed escaped my comprehension. I was basing my thought on the fact that I could not ever imagine life without my mother. And, it also dawned on me that my Great Grandmother was a Gold Star Mother. I never knew Great Grandma Susannah Miles, an immigre from Wales and the mother of my great Aunts and Uncles: Eleanor, Harrison, Howard, Harriet, Donald, David, Rees, Marion, Richard, Francis, Edward, Robert, Franklin, Wilson

David S. Miles was 32 when he was drafted to serve. He was a construction engineer in the Army according to military documents. On February 2nd, 1943 while moving through Torpedo Alley near Greenland, The USS Dorchester was slammed by a torpedo launched from a German (Nazi)U-boat that had tracked them through the night. There were 900 plus soldiers, sailors, crewmen aboard. They took a direct hit in the engine room and many died instantly. The Four Chaplains I had heard about growing up, were indeed heroes among men. It was apparent there was a shortage of life vests. The Four Chaplains gave up their vests “so others may live.” The ship sunk in 27 minutes despite efforts to be righted. 675 people died, the dead, the ship lost at sea.

Funny thing about sacrifice back then. The women took on the rolls of the men gone off to war. People were asked to conserve rubber, tin, power, gas, clothing, even food. They did whatever was necessary to support the war effort. Nobody questioned making such sacrifices. It was just what one did in the Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. One stood behind God, Country, and the President for victory.

I mention these sacrifices because I know that my great Uncle was never memorialized with a funeral service. True, his body was never recovered, but family never said goodbye. Imagine enduring the death of a son in the name of freedom and being so calmly practical as to not spend money on a soul that rested at the bottom of the sea. That is how my Gram explained it. You did what you had to do.

I heard from my Mom the other day. Great Uncle Dave finally had a memorial. A flag with 48 stars that had flown over the Capitol was raised at the Town Hall of Oxford in his honor and will be flown there until Memorial Day. It will then be given to his brother, my Uncle Bob, also a World War 2 veteran. Military traditions run deep in the Miles family. It is an honor to remember that there were others also. Great Uncles Edward, Frank and Reese on this day I remember you! Uncle Ed, I was always amazed at your calm nature, Uncle Frank, I remember your big bellied laugh, and Uncle Reese, It’s Aunt Mildred’s ginger cookies I think of first! …Last, but not least, Uncle Bob. Uncle Bob, every time I see a split change purse, I remember how many dimes and quarters you spit out just for me…And on the other side of the family, I remember Uncle Ben…This guy had the best Beer Can collection ever! May all of you Rest in Peace, having faithfully served. I will always remember you on Memorial Day. (I know, Uncle Bob, 85 and still kicking!)

Gold Star mothers don’t always cry, and hopefully, when they do it is because they are proud of their sons and daughters’ service and sacrifice. I cry with them, though I don’t know their pain. I only know the pride I feel to live in Country such as this. Having served, I sacrificed little in comparison to the fallen and those serving currently in Iraq. My job now is to continue to preserve the freedoms our founders fought for and which our military defends presently. It is a gift and a privilege. Remember those who go to sleep at night, wondering whether this could be their last day on earth and mind, if we aren’t careful, we too could wake up one day in a land we do not recognize.

Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster-sized pictures from Abu Grhaib in front of any available television camera. Al Jazeera quoted you saying that Iraq's torture chambers were open under new management. Did you see the news this week Teddy? The Islamic Nazis demonstrate real torture for you again. If you truly supported our troops, you'd show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it. Your legislation stripping support from the South Vietnamese which led to a communist victory there. That we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers - the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers - cause to think that we will run away again and all they have to do is hang on a little longer.

American news media, the New YorkTimes particularly. Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers. You can't strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country
. Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is. Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer.

You are America's axis of idiots. Your collective stupidity will destroy us. Self-serving politics and terrorist abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers. It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing. There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists. Don't ever doubt that. Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam. If you want our Soldiers home, as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies. Yes, I'm questioning your patriotism. Your loyalty ends with -self. I'm also questioning why you're stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing. You don't deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform. You need to run away from this war and this country.
Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.

No Commander in Chief, you don't get off the hook either. Our country has two enemies. Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within. Your Soldiers are dealing with the outside force. It's your obligation to support them by confronting the axis of idiots.(ie, the enemy from within) America must hear it from you that these people are harming our country, abetting the enemy and endangering our safety. Well up a little anger please, and channel it toward the appropriate target. You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media. You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets. Our Soldiers need you to confront the enemy that they cannot. They need you to do it now.

I could not have put it any better...start showing that you have the cajones,Mr. President!

It ain't J'miraquai....


It's Jamaat ul Fuqra. (J'miraqaui is a rapper.)

Do you know what Jamaat ul Fuqra is? Well, If you are any kind of smart as I think, you might know it has something to do with an Islamic Group. Specifically, Jamaat ul Fuqra is a terrorist group that has migrated to the US from Pakistan. Twenty plus years ago, they came to the US and are springing up all over. In particular, I heard of a town in New York State, Islamberg. Oh yes!! If your Clark Howard scam alert is going off, you would be correct in knowing that this shouldn’t be. Paul Williams reported that it’s members live in compounds like the one in NY. Where are the compounds? (and, is your NRA and target shooting up to date???) Closer than you think….

Hyattsville, Maryland; Red House, Virginia; Falls Church, Virginia; Macon, Georgia; York, South Carolina; Dover, Tennessee; Buena Vista, Colorado; Talihina, Oklahoma; Tulare Country, California; Commerce, California; and Onalaska, Washington. Apparently there is a large “community” (translation training compound) being built in Sherman, PA. These people believe themselves to be above state and federal laws!!! It is said that they recruit inner city black men from the prison system.

This group has a C3 tax status which means they operate as a freaking charity. WTF? These people have been linked to terror attacks for crying out loud!!!

Um, can you remember the Beltway Sniper, John whatshisname Mohammed? Well, If you don’t, let me refresh your memory. There were two people…Mohammed and a boy, John Malvo. They killed a total of sixteen people in several states. The majority were killed in The DC/VA corridors of I-95...Here’s a fact you won’t see in the news. They have been linked to this “charity” and it is known that Mohammed was a convert.

There is also a possible link to the Richard Reid…sneaker bomber. And there are countless other incidents. Why are they allowed to stay as it is obvious they are training terrorists under the guise of Charity? Why is this group not on the terror watch list??
