What did you want to know??

I have come to the conclusion that no matter what we think our kids are learning from us, they need help! I am pondering writing a book, seriously. No. Really. I get so frustrated when I think I have taught my children important stuff. What Kind of stuff? (get ready for a mini rant, ha.)Small break from all the sheisse going on in the world).
I am a fanatic about taking care of what is M-I-N-E, so I naturally believe that my kids have learned this. Alas, not. And it not only makes me fear for how they will be as adults, but will they someday understand what it took to give them the life they have? They take for granted so many little things!

I call them on it, often. I hear," We get it, Mom."
And I repeat, "Show me." Argh!!

My brother's yearbook saying was something like, "it's when you think you know it all that there's more to learn." But I sometimes feel that my kids have not learned anything!!!

What is it your parents taught you (or not) that you wish you had known?
Add it to my list even if it's the same as someone else's.

I did learn to cook. (kid 1 can do this, kid 2 refuses, kid 3 is learning, kid 4 can microwave)
I did learn to do laundry. (Kid 1, kid 2 only does his own...)
I did not know it was important to have a checkbook or good credit.( kid 1 has a savings w/atm card)
I did know how to save money for the things I wanted. (Kid 2 gets this, but kid 1 still burns through it.)
I did not know about things like health insurance, or retirement funds or even saving for college.
I never had a credit card until I got married and I knew how to save.
(My Army pay was 5k and I had 2500k when I married!)

Uncle Sam taught me to PMCS my POV..ha. (perform maintenance, checks and services on my personally owned vehicle) Just thought I'd throw that in there for us vets...and kid one at least can clean it 'til it shines!)

Go....

New Chicago TP with Updates

UPDATED AGAIN!! Apparently, I have made the national news with my little Fox Appearance! Friends in NC called to tell me they saw me!  Woo-hoo! Next stop...Capitol Hill!!

Updated: My archive was missing this post even though it shows up when you click me, so I cut and pasted and added some links below. the comments will be on the other post and new ones started. Go to

http://defendusa.vox.com
and click the photos tab at top to see the pix. Sorry, I just couldn't figure out how to get them here.

After standing by and feeling helpless and watching Rick Santelli ask the President if he was listening, I was prepared to go to Washington, DC and join the "Chicago Tea Party" there to protest the Porkulus bill and then some. Then I found out that we were having one here in downtown Chicago.

Voila.
I got on TownHall.com  and looked up any Illinois Blogger and tried to post notes asking them to try and attend. I didn't meet anyone I knew or "knew" from the blog world. But that's okay. The point was to stand up and say we're not going to take this sitting down. Many of the people there had the same sentiment as Arturick, From Right Wing Hate Machine. He said he had to work for a living.  I heard that statement several times when I asked people what made them come. They had to work!!!

Unlike the left minded counterparts who will take hand-outs over responsibility, perhaps? Ugh. Curse them all who will take it and not think about the repercussions to the rest of us making an honest living AND paying our bills. Of course the leftists pshaw it and call us names but you already know when they can't back up anything, they resort to name calling and invective.

I did get interviewed by the local Chicago Fox Afilliate. He asked me why I came out and I told him it was my duty to support and defend the Constitution. I told him that the President had basically committed treason by signing a bill that had not been read in it's revised form, therefore we were effectively being taxed without representation. I turned the tables on him, too.

I asked if it didn't tick him off to be paying for others mistakes? He offered that he didn't own a home yet. And I told him that he wouldn't ever if he had to pay for other people's mistakes. He was young and taken aback. Stunned for a moment, even.

The link below is of the local Fox channel and the guy who interviewed me. Don't know how to embed it, sorry!
I am the "Chicago housewife."

http://www.myfoxchicago.com/dpp/news/TeaParty

The crowd got to be rather large. Word from the organizer was that we had 350 RSVP's and there were definitely more. We were apparently not allowed to be in the center of Daley Plaza and forced to the surrounding sidewalks. Not to be deterred, we held our signs and yelled toward the street and to each other....

Don't Tread on Me, Pay your own Bills, Read the Bill. USA, not the EEU! One sign, I loved was the one that said, "Honk if you don't want to pay my mortgage!" Needless to say, there were plenty of honks.

We made our way from Daley and walked to the Freedom Museum where larger than life figures with suitcases represented the American Dream.

We chanted all the way and were greeted by honks and thumbs up. Anyway, the whole point was to stand tall for what you believe. I did meet one guy who said that he "was just a smart black conservative who doesn't drink the kool-aid and my parents don't even know I am a conservative." His T-shirt had a pic of Obama and Hitler side by side.

Go to the Chicago Bungalow Page below and see him speak at about 2:27 or so...that was my "Amen" in the background while he was speaking.
http://chi-townbungalow.blogspot.com/2009/02/nationwide-chicago-tea-party-videos.html

There were a few losers out there who chose to bash us tea party protesters and when I find them I let them have it.

This guy's site above is apparently from Chi-town and what I like to call a chest puffer. I let him have it, but someone alerted Michele Malkin and she wrote a column at her blog...

And here's to Jonn Lilyea who managed to embed the video on his site...

The photos are not right here but I think if you click photos, they appear? I am Stoopid when it comes to this!! Enjoy.

Censorship and other things

I just read on the main blogs of TH that FaceBook has pulled an ad that was paid for by Americans for Prosperity. Nah, didn't get the link. I am really ticked off. Who the hell are they to pull an ad that someone paid for? Well, let's see. It must be that do as I say not as I do crowd, the COW supporters.

Don't support the stimulus at Facebook, then be censored. I just recently started using it and I will stop until they refund the money to AFP. That is just not acceptable.

Folks, I gotta tell you that this stimulus thing is the worst thing ever. How's that transparency working for you all who didn't vote for the COW? Uh? What? You KNEW he was just letting the hot air escape from the facial diarrheal orafice? Yep, me too.

How are the 95% of you who are getting welfare entitlements, er, tax rebates faring? Huh? Some of you are getting that thirteen bucks a couple! Where's the party, people? What ARE you gonna do with all that money?

Did you hear Julio in Ft Meyers gizz himself over the fact that The COW let him ask a question. And, what an intelligent question. He wanted to know if Obama was going to give away money, because he had been working at McDonald's for 4 years and it was (gasp!) hard!

And how about the sobbing woman who said she needed her own kitchen, bedroom and a bathroom? The COW has these people snowed into thinking he gives a rat's asss about them when all he had done is pay back his cronies. Good God, I hope and pray that they wake up before he really ruins them.

And I have named the National Health Care program slipped into the pork bill, The US HHS Gestapo. Rationed health care in the US. It's free, ha, ha, but it'll cost you--Your life.  Bob Munck, an idiot liberal poster is besotted with the COW, believes in population control and that we simply pay too much for the shittty quality of the healthcare we have here in the US. I wonder how he'd feel if his wife were suffering from the rarest form of ovarian cancer for a third time and there was a cure, but the gov't said no dice. Or perhaps his brother suffers from recurring brain tumors. 3 strikes and you're out! Yessirree. We can now re-open our own Dachau for the sick.

The only thing this pork bill does in the end is raise taxes.
DO YOU HEAR ME?

IT. RAISES. TAXES!!

Go read this article. Read the whole thing. It may or may not give you an idea of what the COW is ignoring. Keynes was a freak.

Here is a great link on another hot button issue. Are they only humans when someone wants them?

These numbers are what people pay in taxes. I posted this because of of an article I found on RedState. I find these numbers staggering and I scratch my head and wonder. Where the hell do all those revenues go? And people are blindly, sheeply following the pied piper down the path of pure destruction. Can you say ONE. TERM.?

Rush Is RIGHT!!! Sign it!!

UPDATED: Donnie pointed out that they will just use your names, so don't sign it. Where's my sign? I was a dummy.
I am gonna figure out my own petition or poll and put it up here.
DON'T SIGN IT!! BUT DO TAKE IN THE LAMENESS. SSDD.

Is there anything more assinine than the demoRats whining because Rush spoke about Obama and failure in the same sentence? Well, if you thought you hadn't seen it all with the Sheisse sandwich being served up(see post below) in the NON- STIMULUS package, now's your chance!! The Demo Rats are afraid of Rush and they are serving up a petition for you to sign to show your outrage. I left my comment:

"Rush is right. If President Obama thinks we should sit back while our Republic becomes a socialist waste land, then I hope he fails as well. 1 trillion dollars for lining the crony pockets and nothing for the taxpayers but more debt and pretty much ZERO stimulus is absolutely ludicrous. What happened to by the people, for the people? "

And then the little thing pops up proudly announcing,"We are only 2400 signatures from our goal!" I just wonder how many Rush supporters have actually signed up with their comments? So C'mon, people, GO FORTH AND COMMENT!! Do copy and paste it here in my comment section, would you, please? Thanks.

The "lovefest" brings on another Nee Rant

Climate guy warns Obama has 4 years to save the world??? WTF? Is that guy walking on water? This is winter and global warming is the biggest farce, yet. Besides more government help...

Or how about this one...COW Team eyes "government bank" to ease crisis??? Again WTF??? What part about more government, printing money and creating more bureaucracy will help us get out of the current crisis? NOT THE FUKKING GOVERNMENT!!!

Warren Buffet says we are an economic Pearl Harbor? Let's make it true and bomb all the cronies in Washington to clean house then, okay? How does December 7th, 2009 sound?

And the newest gem? A Dayton HS is now telling the student body that they must not say anything inappropriate about The COW on Inauguration Day that would make other students and faculty uncomfortable. HFS, Batman!! This is just getting so ridiculous I can't stand it.

I'm just astounded at the lovefest for the COW. Yes, he will be the President, but all the starry-eyed reporting is truly enough to make me sick.

Seriously. I cannot stand the thoughts that people do not get where we are going. keep in mind people, that the COW has been give the golden key with this crisis. He will be able to make good on campaign promises and nobody will ask for accountability. There is 1 trillion dollars of our money being promised so that can happen. Has anyone bothered to see it? Let me give you a taste...

-$6 billion to weatherize "modest income homes." (You have got to be kidding me!! I am modest income. Will he buy me 36 new double-paned e-gas windows?)

-$6 billion to provide internet in "underserved" areas. ( Does under served mean more internet or more for those who can't afford it? Stop screwing with progress, it will get there!!)-

$6 billion for "higher education modernization." (Um, why waste money when the same old, same old is what you will get? Dumbing things down hardly calls for more modernization!)

-$20 billion in health information technology to "prevent medial mistakes." (No amount of money will create anything that is foolproof behind the hands of humans- We are not GOD!!) To err is human.)

-$20 billion to increase food stamp funding...(Clinton cuts the welfare rolls and Jimmuh 2 recreates them!! More taxes for people who make the money)

-$87 billion to provide a "temporary" increase in Medicaid funding(when the government passes anything temporary, it becomes permanent. More taxes, yet again)

-$300 million to provide rebates for people who purchase Energy Star products (Every freaking thing has an energy star rating, how absurd. More taxes for another entitlement)

-$600 million for the federal government to buy brand new energy efficient cars. (Uncle hasn't been paying attention. The hybrid cars do no better than The Gunny's VW Golf powered by pure gas.

-$400 million for state and local governments to buy brand new energy efficient cars. ( IS THIS NOT TOTALLY LUDICROUS???? Spend that much on public transport infrastructure instead, butthats!!

-$2.4 billion for carbon capture demonstration programs (Waste not, want not, hey? Algore is still making money with his carbon credits. Anybody wnat to make money? Get in the energy business now!!!)

-$350 million to research using energy efficient technology on military bases (HELLLLLOOOO!!!! We are already doing this!!!)

-$300 million for grants and loans to state and local governments for projects that reduce diesel emissions, "benefiting public health and reducing global warming" (That has never worked. It's just code wasting more money.)

-$500 million for energy efficient manufacturing demonstration projects. (WTF? Again, anyone already researching is demonstrating, give me a freaking break!)

-$400 million to build major research facilities "that perform cutting edge science"

( Can you say more bullshitt? These facilities already exist!! Why not shore the programs with the most successes? I just get sick reading this crap.)

-$1.5 billion for expanding "good jobs in biomedical research" (Again, not needed. You want to expand it, consider some scholarships based on Academic merits and tie it to some form of Government Research. There is plenty of that to be had)

-$400 million "to put more scientists to work doing climate change research" (No fukking way!! All we need is more fear and conspiracy theories!! In winter it gets cold, butt-biting cold!!! In summer, why, by golly, it gets HOT!!! That's what seasons do. They change!)

-$600 million for satellite development and acquisitions, including climate sensors and climate modeling. ( again, we have this stuff and it is always being upgraded)

-$250 million "to address long-term economic distress in urban industrial cores and rural areas distributed based on need and ability to create jobs and attract private investment." (I don't know what I can say about this, except it is more sheistering.)

-$650 million to continue the coupon program to enable American households to convert from analog television transmission to digital transmission. (Nope, sorry. Anyone that owns a cell phone or a computer should have been paying attention. You don't give something to people who don't have it in the first place. Another tax for another entitlement and TV is not a right, it's a privilege.)

-$300 million for the National Wildlife Refuges and National Fish Hatcheries (Why?????)

-$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (The only place that money should go is to the public school systems so music is a full time program.)

-$400 million for "ready-to-go habitat restoration projects" (More taxes for more shitt programs. You see how that worked in Obama-land? The housing there wasn't fit for rats.)

-$2 billion to provide child care services for an additional 300,000 children in low-income families while their parents go to work. (I'm not cold, but this is more entitlements and more taxes on the rest of us who had no breaks. Give me a rebate and I'll consider it.)

-$120 million to provide subsidized community service jobs to an additional 24,000 low-income older Americans. (Um, not on my watch.)

-$1.5 billion to help local communities build and rehabilitate low-income housing using green technologies. (Green costs more than what is already available. Get a freaking clue!!)

-$500 million to rehabilitate and improve energy efficiency at some of the over 42,000 housing units maintained by Native American housing programs. (Again, I am not a minority, but another hand-out to people equals more taxes.)

-$10 million for "rural, high-need areas to undertake projects using sustainable and energy-efficient building and rehabilitation practices" (UGh, more freaking green bullshitt.  Holy cow!!)

TH has has added a feature apparently making it hard for me to swear when I feel like it.  It won’t let me use a with three s’s, nor a with two z’s or A-r-s-e, either, darn it.

Frigid in Chicago, and still against all enemies foreign and domestic...I rant.

I have been away from TH pretty much, since the election. Sigh. Things aren't looking stellar but nor do I believe that we're going as fast to hell in a hand basket as the media would like us to fall for. Really. I know times are tough. There have been some short recessions and a couple that were longer in duration. But, did we have our money stolen from us? Nope. We're about to be taken to the cleaners and with no accountability to boot. I say that Louis Gohmert's plan to give us a tax holiday is the fastest way to stimulate the economy. Neal Boortz laid it all out and over a month ago, I signed a petition for it. It's our money and we know best how to spend it. NOT the f-ing companies holding their hands out for being totally irresponsible to begin with. Citibank asking for more? AIG still dropping 400k on a company cruise after all the money the Gov't gave them? No shame at all.  Who best to spend our money? Logically, it is the taxpayer!!! We provide the best accountability for where we need or want to spend and it would leave no debt. Imagine, asking the government to tighten their own damn purse strings while we spend OUR money to stimulate the economy.
Just imagine as Neal Boortz said. When people get a load of what they actually have been paying in taxes, he's hoping they wouldn't want to  give it back. Maybe it would incite a modern day revolt, er, um tea party? I for one would love it. Power back to the people and then where would Uncle be?

Machines
And how about those picks of the COW? The treasury secretary who didn't pay his taxes? Can you imagine the uprising if it were one of Bush's picks? Instead, we get "he was advised to pay those bills and he did." La la la la la, and now it's OOOOKay. Not. Can't be responsible for your own taxes, I sure as hell don't want you in an office as important as that. Need I remind people that Spiro Agnew, a Republican VP went evaded taxes, was caught and fined. And the COW calls Geitner's evasions an oversight, an error? WTF is wrong with these people and the do as I say, not as I do crappola????

God and Country
So I was checking out the President's new digs in Dallas, TX. I'm surprised he isn't going  back to Crawford. Must have a new job lined up? Then I spy "Atheists want GOD removed from Inauguration" or some such BS. WTF is up with that? In my mind, religion was first and Atheism last. We tolerate them, and no, KMA, if a federal judge takes GOD out of the Oath of Office you'll see me getting arrested or shot. I won't stand for it. If an atheist gets elected, he'll have to suck it up. It's the way things are. That's it, that's all.

ABC!!
Well, it is indeed cold here in Shitcago land. -13 blustery. All the schools are closed except for ours and the City of Chicago Public schools. Go figure.  I have shoveled out from a ton of snow already this winter. You see, I have a neighbor who put up a fence on a shared driveway to stick it to the owner of the house we are renting. I have a two car garage that I cannot use. It is called a "tandem" garage. It basically means it is positioned on an angle at the end of a driveway and the cars cannot pull straight in. Especially with a fence RIGHT there. I could pull one car in, if it never snowed, but I cannot ever pull two cars in because of the fence. To top it off, the neighbor is 80, and has her 60 yo daughter living with her. The daughter is the one who put up the fence. She has no job, does not shovel the snow and yells at her mother if she does!! They hire a plow to come and do their side. Unfortunately, they plow my cars IN when the snowplow comes. So, to avoid this, I shovel the driveway and steps of my neighbor who hates all the other neighbors.  The 80 yo lady apologizes for the snowplow, and I tell her that if she was my grandmother, I would shovel the drive, it's no sweat. They have never once said thank you. I didn't expect them to. But, since the daughter has called the cops on the kids for walking across the driveway, I can tell you she sits in that house thinking to herself,"Let that bittch shovel all the snow she wants, I am not taking down that fence. Fukk her." I know it, like I know the nose on my face. This woman has had a tough life, but she never held herself accountable for her actions and I am sure nobody ever did anything nice for her without expecting something back. I'm just doing the right thing. It's a shame. I like this little street and if we sell our house, I wouldn't mind buying here. I'm going to buy a used snow blower, uh-huh. I'll just do what I do and maybe they'll get it. Or not.

Cancer Sucks
I got to see my friend Dave in September and he looked great. Sadly, the cancer has returned and he has lost the use of one side of his body. When I saw him, he said, "Cancer may kill me, but not today." Typical Dave. His mom gave me a photo of when Dave and I were teeny, tiny.
Dave was the full term porker baby and I was the petite preemie. My dad and his were holding us. My Dad was surely very handsome!!
I don't know if Dave will continue to receive therapy.
A blogger "friend" is also losing her third battle with ovarian cancer and has decided it's time for hospice. I broke down. I just kept hoping for a miracle. She is in so much pain and now suffering with blood clots. She said the chemo is killing her, too. Her little girls are definitely old enough that they will not forget their mother, but man! I just can't imagine. I don't think she'll make it another month and it makes me so sad.
Cancer sucks!!

Economies, Presidents and Legacies

Update: I just read this again and I failed to say thanks to Fletch whose thorough analysis  I used as my guide to learn and do more research...His blog has a much more in depth series going and provides much more info than I could even think of as I am not as well read in economics. Much of Fletch's writing helps me to understand the way the economy works. Fletch is truly an economic wiz. Dare I say he should publish a book...

This particular rebuttal is in response to that left-minded friend of mine. His column was from Feb. 08, that attempted to discuss GWB’s legacy. I think he failed miserably as you might agree. It seems that he truly hates anything or anyone affiliated with an R!!!

In light of Burt Prelutsky’s column today, and some of the comments of the lefties, about the unfair tax cuts...read: for the rich, of course,I decided to actually blog it.

Burt's column with comments:

http://townhall.com/columnists/BurtPrelutsky/2008/11/17/why_dogs,_not_liberals,_are_mans_best_friend?page=full&comments=true#comments

His words are normal type and my responses are in bold. I get so tired of the left’s lack of “seeing” that I finally do something. Call it a rant, if you want. Fletch read this and called it, "Bush Derangement on Display." The original title was something to do with GWB's Legacy, but since I screwed up my computer, I can't get it and the site of the friend is archived differently.

As we conservatives know the left abhors objectivity and facts most of all. There were some charts, but I screwed up my computer and it will not let me add them. Suffice it to say that nowhere here does my emotion get the best of me as it has been known to happen. I simply used research and actual facts although, I have not listed the sites as I normally would.  The US Census, CBO, BLS, NBER, AEI, Mises.org... and Fletch's Blog,  Trust me. It is out there and there is no spin. Apologies for the length…My intent was to show that no Presidency leaves a legacy without problems to be dealt with and to ignore it or paint it to be different than the facts support is pure hypocracy.

Read On "GWB Legacy" by lib friend.
Republicans used to claim Jimmy Carter was the worst president when viewed by socio-economic indicators.

(He was, save for FDR, whose lack of judgment and policy prolonged the Great depression for years!!)
However, let's not forget Carter's term followed the dismal years under Nixon and Ford when the American economy did a nosedive after the 1973 oil crisis. All that inflation and unemployment during the Carter years was caused by the previous administration's horrific policies, plus our continued reliance on Middle East oil exports as our primary source of energy for automobiles.
Um, no sorry Matt…The economy was much improved by the time Carter was elected as Ford was quite handy with the veto pen. Shall I review it for you? Nixon’s policies were disastrous, that is agreeable. He should have left the oil market alone and his wage and price controls created quite a bit of chaos. However, I suspect that you are simply letting BDS get the best of you. The price controls were gone by early 1974, and after Ford took office, he exercised the use of the veto pen in an effective manner. Interest rates, unemployment were declining. The high for unemployment was 9% (1975) and continued to fall to 7.5% and lower when Carter took office to 5.6%. In ‘74, the inflation rate was 11% but fell to 5.8%. Lastly, the prime rate had fallen by half from a peak of 12% to 6.25%. Hardly stellar, but much better when laid out with actual stats. Let’s talk about Mr. Carter’s lack of skill and what was handed to Mr. Reagan. Carter didn’t change many of the policies he “inherited.” He continued the regulation of the oil/energy markets and created more complex tax rates when he replaced price controls. Carter had a Fed Chairman who devalued currency further and whoops, created record inflationary rates of 13.3% in 1979. In three years time he blew the progress. How was that Nixon’s fault? In fact, these actions created the future recession that would be felt under Reagan from '80-82.  Analyst Steven Beckner stated in his book “Back from the Brink: The Greenspan Years,” that G. William Miller and Michael Blumenthal (Fed Chair and Carter appointee) were expansionist, designed to spur employment, and exports with zero regard to the devaluation of the dollar. The one thing Carter did do was to appoint Paul Volcker as Fed chariman. (I didn't read the book, Fletch did.)
In the years after Carter, Reagan and his Milton Friedmanesque economic fantasies took hold ("Let's drown government in the toilet and CUT TAXES, YIPEE! We'll all be millionaires then! After all, fat black women on Welfare are driving Cadillac's and buying Beluga caviar with Food Stamps! Fukk the poor!") and millions of working class Americans bought into that Republican fantasy world, only to see their economic situation decline horribly in the last 25 years.
(Again Matt, your obvious disdain for anything with an R behind it, just makes you look ridiculous. Reagan’s tax cuts were proportional—giving equal percentage tax cuts to all income brackets and did stimulate economic growth and investment. That implication here that people sit around and say Fukk the poor, makes me laugh. In fact the using the IRS, US Census, and the OBM will ( Reagan years) show that living standards and of the middle class were better, because the rich did get richer, but the poor, (black, fat people) also got richer, too.

The illusion of wealth in the middle class is much greater than the reality they truly face. Their real wages are down, their health care costs are astronomical, and their personal debt load would make previous generations shocked beyond belief.
Okay, wait a minute! When he talks about “real” does he adjust for inflation which is to say the increase in costs taken on by consumers. This means that statistics have included the impact of higher prices for health care, food, energy, you name it. It is inconsistent the way he has it. Health care costs have been rising since the 70’s. and the drop in wages is nothing new. It doesn’t stop the left from their rants that the policies of Reagan “did this!!” In fact, if one were to look at “real wages” in a graph, it would be apparent that earnings have been steady over 25 years. But Matt fails to see is the bigger picture. Employers have had to pick up the costs of health care expenditures, and matching plans for 401ks, etc…and the bigger picture is that total compensation has consistently risen even if real wages have been in decline.

Now we are seeing the value of their homes, the single greatest source of wealth for the middle class, dropping in many areas of the country. Things are not good. Prosperity has been replaced by economic uncertainty and panic in some sectors. Foreclosures are higher than they have been in a generation.
Again, you are trying to blame the Bush Administration for something that was Fed fueled and could not have been prevented. If you flood the market with cheap money and lenders lend and borrowers borrow, it is not sustainable because eventually rates will go back up and make the problem worse. And, frankly, rates have been pretty low. And the doom and gloom of the left might make them want to jump off a cliff, but as of Feb 2008, 97.4% of homeowners were still making their mortgage payments on time, even those with sub-prime loans. If you signed up for more than you could afford that is not GWB’s fault. Predatory lenders and turning a blind eye, you betcha.

Banks are losing their asss right now. The Fed just dropped the prime lending rate 1.25% to stave off a recession, inflation be damned. The government is pumping $150 billion (as tax cuts) into the economy right when we owe the fukking Chinese our asss in government bonds to pay off our already astronomical national debt. The dollar isn't worth shitt. This is all fukking scary, folks. It's 1929 all over again. Or maybe worse.

There is nothing good about the current debt that we have…However, this does not mean that the fault lies purely on the doorstep of Bush and the Republicans...who are also not blameless.

That is what we face today under George Bush and the Republicans. The chart below is pretty damning about the Bush legacy.

If I could post the chart, suffice to say that it is a cherry picked version of numbers and put together by the left...

The numbers were obviously compiled to make a political point by the opposition, but does that make them wrong? I think not. The time for partisan bullshitt is long gone. All Americans of the middle and lower classes are in a world of shitt even if they don't quite know it yet.

But not you, Matt? As you seem to point that out in many other writings how you will be fine to ride out a recession, though other dummies who might not be as intelligent as yourself will suffer.

And how would anyone know anything with a corporate media that is so completely sycophantic to the wealth and power that is holding this nation hostage today? The same cocksuckers bleeding the middle class dry are the ones who own a controlling interest in the media corporations feeding us pure specious piffle on a daily basis that is so contrary to the reality we all face. BDS showing here, again with the name calling and such. Matt has his own elitist, and specious piffle to peddle as well and it is purely based on his emotion, and hate of free markets. Doesn't matter that the dumbassses who pay him play a part in how much he earns, now does it? I daresay, he mocks his boss.

But back to Bush and his legacy. As I stated, Jimmy Carter inherited an economic mess caused by the stupid Republicans, and then was expected to clean in all up in a few short years.
No surprise here, more name-calling and distortion of the facts…Let’s talk about Billy Jeff for a minute. Reagan’s policies of deregulation, lower tax rates and contraction of the money supply helped to create a stable economy and we reaped the dividends for a long time. Bush 41’s tax hikes, and GW1 created a short recession, but with quick resolution we were stable an growing again. Billy Jeff passed the largest tax increase in American history in 94...How does Matt overlook this? Because the economic growth dropped (post recession) to the lowest ever. I should also note that while the left loves to shower the accolades of the “surplus” during the Clinton years, the intent for all of the budgets submitted to 1998 was to spend more than received in tax revenues.

Bush, on the other hand, began his first term after the wildly successful economic boom of the 1990s under Bill Clinton. Clinton handed Bush not only a healthy economy, but also a government surplus!

That is a lie and here is a great explanation from an economist at Grove City College..."A budget reflects a president's aspirations and hopes, his wishful thinking as well as his philosophy of politics. It's a mixture of financial planning and political campaigning in which fiscal legerdemain knows no limitations of party or time. The federal budget surpluses since 1998 are no exception to the rule. They obscure significant federal expenditures through bookkeeping gimmickry, such as borrowing new money to pay off old loans and calling it "debt reduction."

Imagine a corporation suffering losses and being deep in debt. In order to boost its stock prices and the bonuses of its officers, the corporation quietly borrows funds in the bond market and uses them not only to cover its losses but also to retire some corporate stock and thereby bid up its price. And imagine the management boasting of profits and surpluses. But that's what the Clinton Administration has been doing with alacrity and brazenness. It suffers sizeable budget deficits, increasing the national debt by hundreds of billions of dollars, but uses trust funds to meet expenditures and then boasts of surpluses which excites the spending predilection of politicians in both parties.

If a corporation executive were to engage in such deceit, the Commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), who are supposed to promote full public disclosure and protect the investing public against malpractice in the securities markets, would intervene with severity; when a president of the United States and his appointees engage in similar practices, all his men fall silent.

The surplus deception is clearly discernible in the statistics of national debt. While the spenders are boasting about surpluses, the national debt is rising year after year. In 1998, the first year of the legerdemain surplus, it rose from $5.413 trillion to $5.526 trillion, due to a deficit of $112.9 billion. Since then it has risen to $5.643 trillion today, October 15, 2000, with another deficit of $117 billion. "

NO SURPLUS since 1960!!!

Whoa!! That is not to say there were perils looming from the 90s boom.

Ha. There was a recession beginning for cripe's sake!! The perils looming were that by 1997 taxes were increasing as a percentage of the GDP. Nearly 20%!! The left likes to make victims out of those who choose less lucrative careers and bastardize those who are productive and make more. All the while focusing on the favored phrase that the tax cuts only help the rich…I beg to differ… according to Congress's Joint Committee on Taxation, in 1998 all families with incomes below $20,000 had a negative tax liability, mainly due to the Earned Income Tax Credit, which is refundable. This group received almost $12 billion in tax "refund" checks from the federal government but paid NO taxes!!. By contrast, those with incomes above $100,000 paid $437 billion, 62.4 percent of all federal income taxes. Had Clinton not cut the capital gains taxes, there is little doubt that the recession would have started sooner. The question remains…when did the recession start? Well, as it is defined, two quarters wherein growth is less than 2% of GDP. Someone please explain to me how it is that GWB had any time to create policy that would cause the recession of 2000, or 2001, depending what you read. How is it that Carter and Clinton were essentially blameless? Bush 43 had not passed a single item, signed any orders nor submit a budget…In my opinion, Clinton policies fall short of being “wildly successful.” It was the luck of what he walked into from Bush 41…Perhaps it would be wiser to judge the policies and state of the economy as a President leaves office as opposed to what is inherited. Stop using abject hatred for all things conservative and try to present the facts as they are, not as they can be spun.

There were. The income gap between the wealthy and the lower classes was horrific. We were still too dependant on foreign oil.

But, we wouldn’t be if in 1997 when the vote to drill was passed had moved forward in action! And the tech stock bubble was bursting just about the time Bush was handed the presidency by the Supreme Court. Get over it, Matt. The Supreme Court used the Constitution as the guide. Period.

Fast forward to 2008. As I predicted 5 years ago, the real estate bubble has burst and we're in deep shitt. There was an apocryphal (or maybe true) story that Joseph Kennedy knew before the 1929 stock market crash to pull his wealth out of stocks when he noticed shoeshine boys giving stock tips around Wall Street. For me, I knew the real estate bubble was going to burst one day in 2006 while in Phoenix when my barber there was bragging about his $600,000 house. I thought to myself—and I am not an elitist—how in the fukk can a barber afford a $600,000 house? It turns out that in 2006 builders in the Phoenix area built more than 35,000 more homes than could possibly be sold. The glut of new homes was huge and all of a sudden money wasn't as cheap to borrow as it was during most of the 00s. Mortgage companies started trying new and creative ways to find new home buyers and thus loaned out money to riskier clientele through sub-prime loans and other spurious schemes. These sleazy loans were being given to people who firstly had no business getting credit, and secondly there was no way they could afford the pricey houses they were buying. So superior in this thought process is he!!

And then POP! The bubble burst. There are now millions of people holding notes on houses that are more expensive than their homes are worth. People gambled on borrowing more than they could pay because they thought in a year or two the house's value would increase and they could "flip" the house and make a tidy little profit, as they were told by those sleazy, late-night TV, "get rich quick" schemes. Now they are paying mortgages way above their current liquid income. And hence there are more foreclosures than have been seen in a generation. And hence banks are holding notes to overpriced homes they'll never be able to resell to recoup all their sub-prime defaults. Which is why most mortgage companies are in a world of shitt and banks lost their assses in the 4th quarter of 2008. Hello, recession.

You mean hello bailout, higher taxes to fund the bailout, a vote for the COW and THEN recession will come. So far, NBER not declaring it…Many people saw it coming and tried to stop it, including Bush. There are plenty of links to hear the words of deception of Waters, Emmanuel, Reid, Frank et al. It would seem to me that the you suffer from wearing the rose-colored glasses.

Is this all Bush's fault? Lots of it is. The tax cuts to the rich beginning in 2001 were extremely destructive in many ways, followed by massive spending for a war we didn't need that killed our surplus and started us on borrowing again to meet our national debt.. Did we really need tax cuts for the rich?
Matt, Matt, Matt. The 2001 tax cuts are not responsible for every financial crisis happening in the economy today. The effect of the tax cuts were for all taxpayers, even those who didn’t pay!! Do you see me calling the “fat black women” lazy because they simply don’t produce as much as you and I ? Nah. And for God’s sake, tax cuts are not destructive. They are incentives for investment and generate more tax revenues in the end. For someone so smart, you keep missing it. And there was no surplus as explained above. It was not debt reduction, but debt shift. Please. The recession was in full swing before Clinton left office.

And, that ladies and gentleman is how one should present both sides. You know calling it what it is, instead of how you feel, or wish it to be. GWB is not faultless, but nor is he a villain to the people. In fact, if I were to grade him on the Presidency, here’s what I would say-

GWOT- being fought in TWO theaters, yes expensive but to me, necessary- A- he never waived his responsibility.

Immigration…F+ Build the Fence, the whole fukking fence!!

SS- Well, if only we could be like those in Galveston, TX who privately invested the money they earned, we wouldn’t be worrying about the shifting of debt and the fact that SS will be bankrupt soon.

Gitmo F++ He really screwed up, here and now the COW will shut it down and give them access to US citizens rights and court system, none of which they deserve at our expense.

Economy B. He should have wielded the pen more like Gerry. I have not really suffered, yet despite a 15 month unemployment streak, and yet, it may come.

Well, in reviewing some articles for today, I found one that describes Clinton and what the Pres-elect  wants to do...read it!!

"When it's time to change..."

…You’ve got to rearrange, who you are and what you’re gonna be…

That would be the song sung by the Brady Bunch when Peter’s voice was changing and Barack Obama has taken the words to heart…daily.

I am already giving the President-elect a demerit. You know, his debut speech? Well, he sorta was an assshole in making a comment about former first lady Nancy Reagan and her séances. Alas, it was Hilary Clinton who had the séances and Nancy Reagan who used astrology. The libs are making the argument to give Obama a pass on what he said by saying he was trying to be funny when they asked him had he talked to any former Presidents…methinks he was covering up his boo-boo about speaking to “living Presidents.”

It wasn’t very funny if that was his intention. Apparently he sucks at the delivery.

What has really prompted me to write so soon after the election, however, is the fact that the waffling has begun. He put some potential communistic policy up on his Change.gov/Americaserves website.

Link one is the original post and screen shot. It was short and sweet and it said “require.”

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OaStwcqFVfU/SRXvYJEYpyI/AAAAAAAAABI/zphk7T5e8Ts/s1600-h/serve.JPG

Link two is the one that says “encourage” instead of require and it gives out some of our money for entitlements. The willful ignorance and the starry-eyed look is sickening.

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_OaStwcqFVfU/SRXvwBuLyuI/AAAAAAAAABQ/9C9kIIgOEk0/s1600-h/change.jpg

I suppose we can say the indoctrination is beginning? Got guns? Got Religion? Got bitterness. Check, check and check.

Strike One for the COW.

Election thoughts

He was involved in the most blatant fund-raising fraud in American history. Yet, he was elected to the highest office in the land without being required to release any of his academic, professional, or health records; he lied extensively about his associations with terrorists, racketeers, and anti-American radicals; and he used law-enforcement officials to stifle criticism of him--

Yet the media and the Republican party never questioned him directly on these things.

Clearly the media and the Republican party have no respect for the rule of law or the fate of the country. No other presidential candidate in history has been allowed to skate so completely on the near-total sealing of his records.

As far as I can tell nobody is upset about Obama's corruption, dishonesty, abuse of power, and blatant lies. Senator McCain and President Bush congratulated him, as if the fact that we've been magnanimous enough to elect a black man makes up for the fact that the black man is a thug and a liar who's hiding many secrets, and who broke the law when campaigning. NOT!!!

Obama will be our most corrupt president. He will continue his pattern of breaking the law without impunity. He has stated that he will pass laws to bankrupt industries that he doesn't like, and he has stated his support for price hikes to control behavior he doesn't like, such as driving cars.  Free speech, even.

Obama has shown the kind of president he will be, but people truly think he won't actually do the things he's promised to do, that he's done his entire political career. They really believe he is an omniscient being. I read that 75% of American Jews voted for him. They'll be all shocked when he abandons Israel won't they? Can you say Palestine, Rashid Khalidi?

I am not happy that COW has been given a pass at every turn  and has been elected. I am certain all was not kosher. Conservatives let him get away with his crimes and his secrets- (fundraising, birth, Vera Baker)
McCain did not country first, and  let  Obama walk on his complicity in the economic crisis, his secretive background, his illegal fund-raising, and his connection to Muslim radicals. Why?

Obama's closest friends are terrorists and thug Reverends who love black Theocracy. Ther terrorist and the community organizer worked t gether, wrote policy, wasted money and worshiped together. Those who voted for the COW need to have the balls to admit that he  is a radical. At least have the fukking courage to admit that you know he's a radical!!!  You wanted it, you got it. But I will say, that I am wondering what the hell happened to that Reaganesque landslide the media was so sure would happen...while they were projecting wins with just 2% of precincts reporting.

When the COW  reacts with utter stupidity and his weakness becomes apparent, it may be too late. If he takes the economy down further and cannot protect the allies we still have, I don't want to hear the wussing or have him blame Bush, really. Because you see, even thought he is elected, anything that the COW cannot fix will of course be blamed on Bush. And the BDS sufferers will still not make him  accountable. I'm ready for the fight of my lifetime and Godwilling, we who believe in all that this Country truly stands for will prevail. We are Americans! And just because the COW doesn't meet our standards does not relieve us from our Duties. We are still the example and we cannot fail. Do we need that guy to prove it? The fields of the brave are counting on us. We don't want to let them down.  So muster up, dig deep. Stand Tall, and make them proud. Whoever said that anything worth having and keeping would be easy?

Auntie Z and The COW

I have been watching the COW Auntie story with great interest. And would you look at what I found? Another hypocrit!! This guy Josh Marshall has a blog called Talking Points Memo. Too bad he likes to leave out facts to fit his feelings and who he wants to vote for. Really.

How does one with a degree in History vote for someone who wants to fundamentally change the US Constitution and what the Founding Fathers believed in? Just wondering…His “resume” boasts that he received an award for writing about the “scandal” of the firings of the attorneys under Bush which apparently led to Gonzalez’s resignation. I cough at the chest-puffing. Another award for reporting about Bush and the SS phase out…I’m not impressed.

In the pieces you’ll see below, he rails that it simply must be REPUBLICANS who are doing this to the COW, days before the election!! Gasp! What will happen if this guy finds out it was another Democrat who has gained some consciousness for doing the right thing and exposing the COW for the loser that he is? It doesn’t seem to matter to Marshall that laws are being broken and that there can be no doubt the COW knew about “Auntie Z.” Honestly. He thinks it doesn’t matter because there is no relationship there? UFB. So, now read the article…

Breaking the Law for McCain

11.01.08 -- 10:08AM By Josh Marshall

You may have noticed that the AP is reporting that Barack Obama's aunt (who he does not seem to have a relationship with) was denied asylum in the US four years ago and is now living illegally in Boston. Convenient timing, ain't it?

The real story, though, is down in the third paragraph of the AP story ...

“Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.”

That's about as transparent a red flag as an outfit like the AP is usually willing to give. And there you have it. Quite likely working in concert with the McCain campaign, a Bush administration official is leaking details on an immigration case to try to help McCain three days before the election. It's shades of Bush I's riffling through Bill Clinton's passport files just before the 1992 election in a desperate last minute gambit as they were swirling down the drain.

Late Update: Note too that the story first got leaked to the Times of London, a Murdoch paper with a history of taking planted stories from Republicans for siphoning back into the US media.

(Boo-hoo. Always trying to spin it to your reality, doesn’t change the facts, now does it?)

Convenient timing? Spare me. Would this guy be jumping for joy were the shoe on the other foot. Answer: Yes, of course!! The whole point is missed.

That, as a Presidential candidate per the letter of the law, one should care about upholding the laws as they are written, not ignored for whatever reason. ( Bush is no better, btw.) To boot, the guy thinks nothing of the COW’s ambition when it comes to the US Constitution? A doctorate in history does not a smart man make….

Ah, but we have the other gem, here.

Bummer

10.16.08 -- 4:03PM By Josh Marshall

Joe the Plumber not actually a plumber?

At least not licensed to be one.

…in which Marshall cares not that Joe Wuhrzelbacher was illegally investigated by the state of OH, because the COW himself admitted to Joe that he wanted to spread the wealth to the guy behind him!! And, immediately an Obama supporter/donor thinks it okay to try and slander the man.

Obama himself mocked Joe. Why is it not a bother that the law was broken when it comes to Joe W.? Oh, heh. I get it. HE’s not the COW…silly me!

And, FYI. It doesn’t matter one whit whether Joe has a license to be a plumber, the point is, that’s what he does. Marshall is an intolerant, whining liberal who will go down with the rest of his ship of fools should there be more “leakage.” (And, I am confident there will be.) This doesn’t mean I won’t stand up and fight if necessary, either. The end for The COW will be swift when the people giving him the passes wake up. They will, make no mistake. Those sufferers of the wife beater syndrome do tend to reach the threshold, after all. Just watch “The Burning Bed.”

I also have to wonder if Marshall cares that Obama keeps throwing his family under the bus. His family makes their own decisions as to how they live, but a man claiming to be for all the people should bring the charity home first, with his own wallet. If the COW didn’t see fit to help this seemingly impoverished immigrant relative, what makes anyone believe he will keep his promises to the nation as President? And this should be irregardless of the fact that his father is dead or that he had no relationship with “auntie.” It should actually be all the more necessary.

An Obama Defection....

First, you aren't going to see this int he MSM...Second, this is a liberal perosn who thinks and does not spew. I give her a ton of credit and all of my respect for getting it.
And for all of the people who tell me Obama is not a communist because he shared his PBJ or toys, I call bullshitt...You CHOOSE to share toys or food, but when it comes down to the moolah, you can forget it. Obama is the next Marx.
And for all of the people who will try and call me an alarmist over Obama's 2001 remarks about the US Constitution...Fukk you and the boat your immigrant Grandparents gave you the ride on. You disgrace this Country, and them. You do not deserve the freedoms afforded you if you dispel that Obama does not want to change the very thing that made us great. I'll keep my guns, religion and the bitterness for the assshats like you. What goes around comes around, and the revolutionaries are ready.

Now read Wendy Button in her own words.

"Since I started writing speeches more than ten years ago, I have always believed in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. Not after the election of 2008. This transformation has been swift and complete and since I’m a woman writing in the election of 2008, “very emotional."

When we first met, Obama and I had a nice conversation about speeches and writing, and at the end of the meeting I handed him a pocket-sized bottle of Grey Poupon mustard so he wouldn’t have to ask staff if it was okay to put it on his hamburger. At the bottom of the bottle was the logo for “The South Beach Diet” and he snapped, “Oh so you read People magazine.” He seemed to think that I was commenting on his bathing suit picture.

I helped with his announcement speech and others. I worked in the Senate when he was in D.C. One day after a hearing on Darfur, we were walking back to the office. I was still hobbling from a very bad ankle injury and in a very kind and gentle way he offered his arm when we approached the stairs. But later in debate preps and phone conversations and meetings, I realized that I had made a mistake. I didn’t belong. No matter how hard I tried, my heart wasn’t in it anymore.

...The final straw came the other week when Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a Joe the Plumber) asked a question about higher taxes for small businesses. Instead of celebrating his aspirations, they were mocked. He wasn’t “a real plumber,” and “They’re fighting for Joe the Hedge-Fund manager,” and the patronizing, “I’ve got nothing but love for Joe the Plumber.”

Having worked in politics, I know that absolutely none of this is on the level. This back and forth is posturing, a charade, and a political game. These lines are what I refer to as “hooker lines”—a sure thing to get applause and the press to scribble as if they’re reporting meaningful news.

As the nation slouches toward disaster, the level of political discourse is unworthy of this moment in history. We have Republicans raising Ayers and Democrats fostering ageism with “erratic” and jokes about Depends. Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism have all made their ugly cameos in election 2008. It’s not inspiring. Perhaps this is why I found the initial mocking of Joe so offensive and I realized an old line applied: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.”

The party I believed in wouldn’t look down on working people under any circumstance. And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations.

...Not only has this party belittled working people in this campaign from Joe the Plumber to the bitter comments, it has also been part of tearing down two female candidates. At first, certain Democrats and the press called Senator Clinton “dishonest.” They went after her cleavage. They said her experience as First Lady consisted of having tea parties. There was no outrage over “Bros before Hoes” or “Iron My Shirt.” Did Senator Clinton make mistakes? Of course. She’s human.

But here we are about a week out and it’s déjà vu all over again. Really, front-page news is how the Republican National Committee paid for Governor Sarah Palin’s wardrobe? Where’s the op-ed about how Obama tucks in his shirt when he plays basketball or how Senator Biden buttons the top button on his golf shirt?

...Governor Palin and I don’t agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor. I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can’t learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr.

When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot—that’s a sign of both humor and humanity.

Has she made mistakes? Of course, she’s human too. But the attention paid to her mistakes has been unprecedented compared to Senator Obama’s “57 states” remarks or Senator Biden using a version of the Samuel Johnson quote, “There’s nothing like a hanging in the morning to focus a man’s thoughts.”

...I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.

I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges."

Here’s a great Ovomit parody of a conversation between The COW and two Trick or Treaters….their words are in orange parentheses.
Halloween at the Obama’s

The doorbell rings and two kids say, “Trick or Treat!”Obama: I guess you kids want some candy… (yeah!)Obama: But, first you’ll agree that there has to be fundamental fairness and distribution of the candy. (what??) Spread the candy around so that its fair for everyone. (huh? O-okay)Works like this. First, I take all of your candy and put it into my bag… (sound of candy being dumped) And , now you’re a pirate like the people on Wall St. who represent corporate greed. And, you’re a princess, and rrincesses are rich, right. (Right!) They got that way by oppressing others, right? (Huh?!!) So outta this whole bag of candy, I think you kids deserve two pieces each. (That’s not fair. We’ve been walking around for hours.) Well, I never said there wouldn’t be sacrifices…(kids are whining) Don’t you want to share your candy with the clowns and the hobos? (NO! Why do you get all the candy?) Because I represent the Government and I like Milk Duds. Happy Halloween! ( the kids prepare to egg the house or something.)
