Valour-IT Fundraiser Time
Do you have pride in the job the
soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen are doing to keep this Country
safe? Then I urge you to please take note of this amazing fundraiser.
Most of you know that I donate time, money and blogging support all
the time. So, I ask you to read this post which I lifted from
Blackfive.net(Go Army!!) It is motivational and will do some great
things for the wounded vets ion need of Information Technology to
communicate. Spread the word!! I am donating stuff for the auction as I am cash poor...But, I am encouraging all my comrades to give if you can... C'mon Gunny, you big leatherneck...cough it up for
Valour IT!! Hopefully, I got the link stuff right...
Project
Valour-IT helps provide voice-controlled/adaptive laptop computers and
other technology to support Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines
recovering from hand wounds and other severe injuries. Items supplied
include:
Voice-controlled Laptops - Operated by speaking
into a microphone or using other adaptive technologies, they allow the
wounded to maintain connections with the rest of the world during
recovery.
Wii Video Game Systems - Whole-body game systems increase motivation and speed recovery when used under the guidance of physical therapists in therapy sessions (donated only to medical facilities).
Personal GPS - Handheld GPS
devices build self-confidence and independence by compensating for
short-term memory loss and organizational challenges related to severe TBI and severe PTSD.
SPREAD THE GOOD WORD!!
Blackfive, aka Matthew Burden, is the Army Team Leader and I, a Hooah Gal am a member of his team. Check out Matt's Candidate page and if you're in his district, volunteer to help his campaign. I no longer live there and would not have been in his district by a hair, but I have donated to him. Call me old-fashioned, but I feel if you are going to be Commnander in Chief one day, I feel that Serving your Country makes you worth a look. (http://www.mattburdenforus.com/) and feel free to read this post by Matt

The lines are drawn by service rivalry:
Non-military bloggers should choose a branch the Army to support (they are called the Army's sister services for a reason):
Now, always love to take part in the brutal gentle
inter-service rivalry, especially during war. But this is for a very
important charity. So, civilian bloggers, choose your branch. Choose
wisely...(cough, cough, A-HEM!!!)
Sign up for the Army team by enlisting at the Project Valour-IT site and click (under Army) "Join". We'll generate links, buzz, and get these heroes some Commo support!
Green-Army -Red Marines-Gray Air Force Navy wouldn't work (sorry Craw!!)
It's a tax-deductible donation and eligible for matching funds from companies who do that sort of thing (see: IRS INFO for proof for the cautious).
